What’s Your Moonshot for Positive Impact?

What would you say if you were invited to share your Moonshot?

A Moonshot is “an ambitious, exploratory and ground-breaking project undertaken without expectation of near-term profitability or benefit and also, perhaps, without a full investigation of potential risks and benefits.” —  WhatIs.com

In July, Archangel founder Giovanni Marsico and keynote Naveen Jain (billionaire philanthropist who is building spaceships to fly to the moon) announced that anyone who had a ticket to Archangel Summit 2017 was invited to submit a 1-minute video sharing their Moonshot – and how they would use $50K in their existing business to create exponential change and positive impact.

Last year, I attended the inaugural Archangel Summit and found the day rich with inspiration and connection. See our blog about Archangel Summit 2015 here.

So borrowing from the words of a young woman who has participated in our Building Internal Resilience Through Horses program – ‘she believed she could – so she did’ – we submitted our 1-minute Moonshot.

Our intent is to grow our trauma-informed equine experiential learning offerings and in particular, our offerings for first-responders (paramedics, police, fire, ER personnel and others in caring professions). You can watch our Moonshot video here.

Imagine our excitement when  we learned on August 24 that The Mane Intent was chosen as a top 20 finalist! As the next step, we received an invitation to participate in an interview with Giovanni to discuss our Moonshot on August 31. The interview was a great opportunity to share our ‘elevator pitch’ and our story and we appreciated the chance to do so.

This week we learned that we are not one of the 5 finalists chosen, however this was a great opportunity to consider what’s possible when you start to breathe life into a project that has yet to be manifested. (And as noted by a cherished client – “our moonshot ‘heart arrow’ just hasn’t found it’s celestial destination yet.” )

So this is a shout out to Archangel Summit’s founder Giovanne Marsico for achieving his vision and his own ‘moonshot’ by creating Archangel Summit and inspiring others to do so as well.

Archangel’s judging panel has chosen 5 finalists, who will each get a chance to pitch their Moonshot live on stage at Archangel Summit 2017 on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Sony Centre in Toronto. The audience will vote for the winner.  These finalists will get an opportunity to share the stage with Simon Sinek, Danielle LaPorte, Lewis Howes, Shark Tank’s Daymond John, Dr. Shefali Tsabary, Jim Kink and many more incredible speakers.

This is a shout out to each of those 5 finalists (and to all who had the courage to submit their Moonshot). I will be voting for each of them for the positive impact that each will ultimately have in making this world a better place, while inspiring others to do so as well.

Tickets for Archangel Summit 2017 can be purchased here.
