MACP Practicum at PRHC Pediatric Outpatient Program Begins January 5

We’re pleased to share that The Mane Intent’s Jennifer Garland will begin a 7-month part-time practicum January 5, 2021 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre’s Pediatric Outpatient Program as a Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology candidate (2021).

Jennifer will be supporting families and young people as a member of the Pediatric Outpatient Program team, while receiving supervision from registered psychologist Constance Oates. This healthcare team serves Peterborough, Lindsay, Haliburton and Northumberland.  Jennifer’s experience will include family therapy, eating disorders therapy, group therapy, general mental health counselling and psychiatric mental health counselling.

This experience will broaden the scope of Jennifer’s therapeutic practice and build upon a growing foundation of trauma-informed and strengths-based training and certifications she’s acquired since launching The Mane Intent in 2014. Completion of Yorkville University’s Master of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology will complement a certificate in Trauma Counselling from the University of Toronto, Fundamentals of Natural Lifemanship training in Trauma-focused Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy and Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training.  Additionally, Jennifer has applied to the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario to become a Registered Therapist (Qualifying).

To all of this work, Jennifer brings over 25 years of award-winning business experience in corporate and strategic communications, change management and community investment. She has provided counsel and coaching support to senior leaders from all sectors to create opportunities for building relationships, facilitating learning and embracing change.
