Jennifer Garland’s artful facilitation and the gentle energy of her equine partners are a powerful combination – and its offered up in a beautiful setting! Highly recommend it.” Bernie

We’re pleased to announce that Elmhirst’s Resort in Keene, Ontario is offering equine experiential learning at The Mane Intent as part of its weekend Wellness packages for couples and individuals.  The sessions are designed to help participants reduce stress, while improving their wellness and relationships. Through a series of facilitator-guided activities, guests can work in partnership with horses as natural coaches. Our horses offer sensitivity, perceptiveness and intuition without judgement in a safe environment. All exercises with the horses are on the ground and guided by a professionally certified coach and experienced facilitator. No previous horse experience is required.

The weekend package for couples is called Just For You —  Horse Power & Heart Connections: Exploring What’s Possible with an opportunity to:

  • Spend time celebrating the gift of relationships, shared experiences and personal connection
  • Honour your experience as a couple; identifying beliefs and emotions needed to support a healthy relationship
  • Understand how our energy and emotions impact our loved ones; learn how to use emotions as information for greater intimacy and self-awareness
  • Learn how mindfulness practices can help us cope and manage stress more effectively.

Elmhirst Resort aerialMinutes from our farm, Elmhirst’s Resort is a cottage resort, conference facility and spa with world class dining and activities for the whole family in all 4 seasons. Its collection of cottages is nestled on the breathtaking shoreline of Rice Lake and an array of outdoor adventures await. The Elmhirst family offers you the very best of the Kawarthas — much of it on their very own property. In fact, they raise our own beef, and grow much of what they serve in their lakefront dining room, bringing new meaning to farm-to-table. Their 240-acre property, passed along from one generation to the next, is the cornerstone of the Elmhirst Resort experience. They’re committed to preserving that property for the future — for their family and for yours. They pride themselves on environmental sustainability at the resort. In every aspect of their operation, they strive to use resources respectfully, and they’re always looking for new ways to protect — and preserve.
