The Mane Intent Sponsors ‘Creating Community’ Workshop

“Great things are brought about and burdens are lightened through the efforts of many hands anxiously engaged in a good cause.” — Elder M. Russell Ballard

The Mane Intent is pleased to announce our sponsorship and support of the 2018 International Women’s Day Conference (IWDC Ptbo) on March 8, 2018. This event, hosted this year by Thirteen Moons Wellness, will bring women of Peterborough and surrounding communities together, and aims to both inspire and advocate for greater action and investment to advance gender equality.

Louise Racine is the owner of Thirteen Moons Wellness and is this year’s IWDC Ptbo Host and Organizing Committee Chair. Louise is the type of woman whose actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. She is a natural leader. Her vision for a day that brings women together for learning and networking manifested into the first IWD Conference last year hosted by the Women’s Business Network of Peterborough.

The nature of our business is about connection and support, bringing humans and horses as natural coaches together to explore new possibilities and experiences that improve your health and wellness, challenge you to try new things, gain more confidence, harness your ideas and take the lead. We know the overall health of our herd of horses is dependent on creating a sense of belonging, safety and security for all of its members. We also recognize the importance of broader community involvement and support.

That’s why we’re pleased to be supporting a unique workshop offered as part of this event called “Suddenly I See — Creating Your Community” facilitated by Tara Seon, pictured here. Tara is a dynamic woman with many interests and a natural sense of adventure. She believes she is blessed to be living exactly the life she wants, due in large part to the circles of kinship to which she belongs, circles which she has consciously created and earnestly nurtured over the years. I’ve met Tara personally and her energy and enthusiasm is inspiring. She describes herself as a ‘retired HR consultant’, however she is also a life-time learner in every sense of the word having volunteered over seas and earning a Masters Degree at 64. Tara credits her rich life to the circles and communities with which she continues to create her life.

Like Tara, many of us look for others of similar minds, values and interests with whom to engage, create and build kinship. Meaningful connections with others is acknowledged as a factor in maintaining mental and physical health. This workshop will focus on developing and sharing strategies to seek co-creators of our life-community.

We are proud of our growing community who support the work of our herd and The Mane Intent. This includes Equine Programming-certified facilitators, social workers, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, researchers, and corporate and life coaches. Our delivery teams are determined by client needs and we are grateful for their dedication and support.

We’re also proud to have this opportunity to support the International Women’s Day Conference and its intent to engage, share and empower women in our community. Book your tickets here.
