Give the Gift of Experience

Have you considered the gift of experience this holiday season?

A mother-daughter trip through the Canadian Rockies on horseback with other family members is one of my most memorable life experiences. Travelling five-six hours per day up and down the crooks and crannies of Canada’s backbone, we rode into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. We moved along in harmony with nature. While the horses found their footing and carried us through stunning scenery, we shared laughter, caught up on life and enjoyed the camaraderie of the trail. Memories of that special experience with people I love continue to give me reason to smile.

Experiences give us opportunities to learn new skills, discover insights about ourselves, enjoy the company of others, visit new places and explore possibility. Experiences can also help you feel better, for example, The Mane Intent offers gift certificates for unforgettable Horse-Inspired Wellness Coaching sessions. Our introductory session is an opportunity to rekindle your relationship with self, others and nature as you discover the joy of meeting a gentle herd of horses. With the support of a certified facilitator, we explore themes like heart connection, intuition, body language, self-care, presence and trust. No previous horse experience is required and all activities are completed on the ground working in partnership with our horses as natural coaches.

The latest issue of The Magnolia Journal, the magazine produced by Joanna and Chip Gaines of HGTV’s Fixer Upper fame, includes some additional suggested experiences for gifting this holiday season:

  • Booking a photographer for family or pet portraits
  • Hiring a service provider like a gardener or landscaper for a period of time
  • Purchasing an educational experience like a cooking or gardening class
  • Giving a ‘subscription’ of the month to a favourite magazine
  • Creating a date night package for a dinner and a movie or a night at a favourite Bed and Breakfast

In the Kawarthas-Northumberland area there are many unique experiences that could be packaged and gifted to a family member or friend, including a memorable experience with horses designed with intent. Visit our herd here to learn more about our horse guides and their unique personalities and gifts.
