On the weekend we had an opportunity to participat On the weekend we had an opportunity to participate in Liz Zetlin’s More Than A Human show at @tomthomsonartgallery in #owensound. @zetlinliz is an environmental artist whose work includes poetry, photography, video, installation, and site-specific nature-based collaborations to investigate our inter-relationships with each other, the land, and the more than human. More Than Human unfolds as an immersive four-channel video installation, filmed over the course of a year in her local garden. Liz was also a friend of my deceased sister Jane and collaborated on the Connections project. This exhibition is grounded in the concept of “more-than-human”’ a concept articulated by philosopher David Abram to describe the vast, animate world that exceeds human perception which yet sustains it. Abram emphasizes our embeddedness within a living, interdependent field of plants, animals, and ecological forces. In Zetlin’s work, this perspective is made palpable: plants communicate through electrical impulses translated into sound; pollinators move with agency and purpose, and the garden itself emerges as a network of relations rather than a passive backdrop. Liz is the inaugural poet laureate of Owen Sound and her latest poetry collection is Prompted by Happiness. Congrats on a great opening Liz — love that jacket too! #poetry #nature #art

It’s a beautiful day to play in the pond followed It’s a beautiful day to play in the pond followed by a healthy roll on the grass. So much activity unfolding in the field today. Behaviour is communication and the horses are happy today. A child’s behaviour is also communication. Working alongside horses creates a calm, non-judgemental space that helps clients build emotional awareness and self-regulation, feel grounded and safe in their body, and develop trust, confidence, and connection. I am a registered psychotherapist providing trauma-informed, compassionate care tailored to each individual. I work primarily with children (age 7 and up), youth, women and couples. My approach is collaborative, respectful and focused on helping you move forward at your own pace. We are welcoming new clients. #equineassistedtherapy #psychotherapy #mentalhealth

Confidence grows when we feel safe enough to try. In equine-assisted psychotherapy, clients learn self-trust, emotional regulation, and communication skills through experiential therapy — not pressure. As a registered psychotherapist, I work with children, youth, and adults navigating anxiety, trauma and life transitions. Small moments can lead to big change.
