Welcoming Joy in Everyday: Women’s Business Network Workshop March 6, 2024

“Joy is sudden, unexpected, short-lasting, and high-intensity. It’s characterized by a connection with others, or with nature or the universe. Joy expands our thinking and attention, and it fills us with a sense of freedom and abandon.” – Brene Brown

In a world where headlines make you cry, there is joy. Joy exists in the everyday. Studies show that routinely experiencing joy produces healthy changes throughout your body, brain and nervous system. Experiencing joy can strengthen your immune system, boost your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of chronic stress. Joy is always present, waiting to be experienced in the midst of what is, no matter what is.

We’re pleased to share that Jennifer Garland, RP, Owner/Program Director for The Mane Intent will be hosting a workshop at the March 6, 2024 meeting of Women’s Business Network of Peterborough at the Holiday Inn in Peterborough, Ontario. The event starts with networking at 5:30 p.m.

The workshop is entitled: Welcoming Joy in the Every Day. In this workshop, Jennifer will invite participants to experience joy (and gratitude) in a fun and engaging way, through a series of group activities and guided meditations. Joy is good medicine. It exists in the everyday and it is accessible to all. This is an opportunity to rediscover and experience the magic of joy.

Jennifer’s presentation will also include a high level overview of Polyvagal Theory and how our autonomic nervous system is the foundation upon which our lived experience is built.
