Welcoming Geoff Crane to our Community of Experts

The Mane Intent is pleased to welcome emotional intelligence expert Geoff Crane, President of Adaptimist Insights, to our delivery team. We work with a variety of experts including Equine Programming certified facilitators, social workers, psychiatrists, psychotherapists and corporate and life coaches to support programming. Our delivery teams are determined by client needs.

Starting in 2018, we’ll be collaborating with Geoff and Adaptimist Insights on an offering focused on professional burn-out and other equine experiential workshops intended to help you improve and enhance relationships and communication skills.

Geoff is a Canadian public speaker, researcher and entrepreneur. As a pioneer in the field of motivational intelligence, he has written numerous articles on the importance of emotional and social skills in the workforce. Well-versed in the changing demands of today’s project-based work environments, Geoff spends his days helping leaders design and build a balanced repertoire of soft skills to help them achieve what matters most.

Earlier this year, Geoff had an opportunity to meet our horses and learn more about our offering as a unique and memorable way to heighten our awareness of how we create and foster relationships with others.

At The Mane Intent, Jennifer Garland has created something truly special. Other intervention programs struggle to teach genuine self-reflection, however Jennifer’s equine colleagues effortlessly guide participants’ vision inwards. The horses do this without judgment or prejudice which allows the visitor to explore their own feelings in a safe, non-threatening manner. After my own experiences with the herd, I cannot imagine anyone leaving unmoved. A trip to The Mane Intent is transformative,” Geoff said of his experience working with our herd as natural coaches.

At Adaptimist Insights, we offer evidence-based programming that empowers people to find courage and hope through stronger coping skills, stress management and cognitive reframing. We believe that better emotional intelligence has the power to improve not just your professional life, but your personal one as well,” Geoff explains.

With roots in Trent University’s Emotional and Health Research Lab, Adaptimist was created and developed on statistical insights. Founder Geoff Crane worked in the lab as a psychology graduate student with a focus on interpersonal relationships in the workplace. He recognized that emotional intelligence training needed to go much deeper than was offered. As someone who experienced first-hand how stress in the workplace can lead to burnout, Geoff created Adaptimist with real challenges in mind and is focused on required skills, not just theories and academia.

Emotional intelligence encompasses the breadth of human emotional and social capability. Everyone has their own unique set of challenges in this area; becoming the person you want to be starts with understanding not just what holds you back, but why. Better pursuits begin with better knowledge of yourself,” he adds.

Visit Adaptimist Insights to receive a FREE 50-page workbook of advanced emotional and social competencies for leaders (and aspiring leaders).
