Welcome to The Mane Intent – Connecting People to Possibility with Horse Power

What is success? How do you measure it? Is it career success? Is it personal achievements and well-being? Success means different things for different people. Working with horses has given me reason to define success in a way that is meaningful to me. They’ve given me reason to pause and take note of the way I move in this world and the impact I have on others. They’ve helped me become a better leader, reminding me to take each moment, each day as it comes. Most importantly, they’ve made me appreciate the many dimensions of success and to appreciate the benefit of a life lived fully with intent.

At The Mane Intent Inc. (The Mane Intent), we use facilitated equine experiential learning (FEEL), a leading edge modality for developing human potential, to help teams and individuals uncover the possibility within each of us. In experiential interactions with horses, you gain self-knowledge and acquire skills that can lead to positive life changes at work, at home and at play. We offer a variety of both individual and group facilitated workshops to help you discover ways to nurture and strengthen interpersonal connections, find connection and meaning in a busy life, unearth your talents, gifts and creativity, and live fully with intent and an open heart.

The word “intention” in Latin means “to stretch towards.” Forming intentions helps us to clarify what qualities of being we are stretching towards, yearning for, and longing to grow into. We each have the freedom to use the power of our mind to choose our own thoughts, feelings and growth directions. We also have the power to discover our life’s purpose.  Jungian analyst James Hillman calls it “the Acorn Theory”: the idea that we are born with a soul that shapes our destiny. This means that our full potential already lies within us. The challenge: our potential will lie dormant if our life conditions are not ideal for growth. Our intent is to bring horses and humans together to explore new possibilities and experiences that get them out of their comfort zone and give clarity of voice to their leader within. Living life fully with intent is achieved by uncovering that which makes our heart sing, lights our fire, and rocks our world, unleashing our potential to run freely at full gallop.

How do you define success? When you work with horses over a period of time, it becomes clear that each horse and each person experiences the other uniquely on her own terms. Every day, every moment is different; every activity has a clear goal, but no two experiences are the same. The journey and the insight gained along the way is the reward and that reward means different things to different people. Horses connect us to possibility. Come out to The Mane Intent to meet our herd.  Take the lead and believe in what’s possible for you.
