Duncan: Our Newest Team Member

Duncan, our newest team member, arrived at the farm in April, 2025. He is a 20 year old Thoroughbred/Welsh Pony cross who comes from a long show history. Duncan is a large, fine-boned pony, initially born and raised in a zoo in Nova Scotia. He then went on to be a winning A-circuit hunter, then transitioning to pony jumpers and being a school pony for kids/small adults beginners and intermediate rides.

Since arriving at the farm, Duncan has demonstrated he is fully healed from his earlier injury. He has shown us how can jump the gate to get into greener pastures when he is feeling the attraction. This is a first for us – a barrier breaker pony. Fortunately it has only happened once.  Duncan has spent the first few weeks with us settling into the herd. He is a smart horse with a large heart and wise eyes. He is quickly learning to connect with humans in a new way and is a great resource for younger clients who find the larger horses a bit too much.  Welcome Duncan!
