Acknowledging Support as Excellence Awards Recipient

We’re pleased to share The Mane Intent is the recipient of the Health and Wellness Award sponsored by Peterborough Regional Health Centre and the Micro Business Award sponsored by Community Futures Peterborough at the Peterborough and the Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards hosted at Showplace Theatre on October 19, 2022. Huge thanks to the Chamber and Sponsors for creating this opportunity to acknowledge those who have supported The Mane Intent.

For The Mane Intent founder Jennifer Garland, the event was an opportunity to acknowledge Constance Oates, a child psychologist at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, who supported Jennifer while she completed an 8 month practicum as a therapist supporting clients in the Family and Youth Clinic and Pediatric Outpatient Clinic in 2021. Jennifer also acknowledged the many service agenices who have provided The Mane Intent with an opportunity to support their clients with equine-assisted learning and psychotherapy programming.

Jennifer is most grateful for her husband and life partner Chris van den Berg who works tirelessly behind the scenes and supports us all every step of the way. We are grateful for our wonderful herd of horses and donkeys who support our clients on their own journeys to greater wellness. Believe you can and you will.

Located on a beautiful 80 acre farm just east of Peterborough, The Mane Intent offers in-person and virtual psychotherapy, equine-assisted psychotherapy and equine-assisted wellness experiences and workshops. Jennifer Garland, MACP, RP (Qualifying) is the Owner/Program Director of The Mane Intent, with over 30 years of business leadership experience. Jennifer works with individuals and organizations to help navigate change, facilitate learning, and promote healthy leadership and self-discovery. Book your session here.
