Here is an opportunity for young men and women, aged 13 – 15, to learn about and practice leadership, in a meaningful and authentic way working in partnership with horses as natural coaches. Many leadership skills such as goal-setting, problem solving, confidence and the ability to connect with others support healthier choices and help to build stronger communities with engaged youth.
In this unique, one-day workshop participants learn by doing and gain knowledge and transferable skills that will be an asset in life — both personally and professionally. Participants will:
- Gain understanding of personal strengths and weaknesses
- Tap into the power of intention and build the capacity for goal achievement
- Develop greater confidence, self-esteem and the belief in their ability to step up, take the initiative and responsibility to create positive social change
- Learn how to work more effectively with others in a team
All of the exercises with the horses are done on the ground. No previous horse experience is necessary. There is a minimum of 4 participants and maximum of 8 participants required to offer this workshop. All participants are required to register with a parent or guardian.
