For the past few years I’ve served as a volunteer board member for the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. It’s been a great opportunity to fully understand the wonderful work this agency does to support vulnerable children and youth. I’ve also developed a greater appreciation for the complexity of child and welfare services through this experience.

Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society’s Youth in Care Show What’s Possible

I recently had an opportunity to participate in the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society’s (KHCAS) Annual Meeting. Through a series of unexpected conversations and ultimately a decision, I have begun a three-year term as a KHCAS Board member. This event was my formal introduction to the organization and it was a positive and inspiring one.
